We are currently seeking applications from experienced and committed Accounts professionals to join our Finance team in the role of Finance Officer.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Officer to join our Finance team at Marist180. This role is critical in supporting the smooth operation of our finance department by performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will thrive in a collaborative and professional environment and be committed to delivering high-quality financial services that support the organisation's mission.

The role of Finance Officer includes:

  • Entering invoices and ensuring proper approval are in place.
  • Processing payments in a timely manner and ensuring that required authorisation is obtained.
  • Issuing invoices to customers.
  • Manage outstanding payables and receivables ensuring that proper action is done to resolve discrepancies and adjustments are well documented and approved.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with external audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Recommend business process improvements.
  • Manage relationship with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Other ad-hoc duties

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting/finance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. NetSuite, Xero, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Meticulous with a high level of accuracy in financial data.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.

Desirable:

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence.

Work Requirement:

  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
