The Role

As a financial accountant, you will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, decision-making, and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and annual financial statements
• Delivering accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting, including accruals, variance analysis, and ledger close activities
• Producing financial reports and analysis for senior management and other internal and external stakeholders
• Assisting with taxation compliance, including the preparation of BAS and FBT returns
• Building and maintaining effective relationships across the organisation

The Ideal Person

• At least two years’ experience in accounting or audit (Big 4, consulting, or federal government)
• Expertise in financial systems such as TechOne, SAP, CBMS, TM1, or similar
• A solid understanding of financial reporting, month-end processes, and journals, with a sound grasp of accounting standards
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance (highly desirable)

Salary / Rate

• $80k - $110k + Super
• 6-to-12-month contract with possibility of extension and view to permanency; or
• s26 transfer for existing APS employees
