Your Opportunity

This newly created role has arisen due to a recent acquisition and offers you the perfect opportunity to shine as the debtor management/collections expert and someone who is also able to use broader accounts, reconciliation and month end skills, to support the broader finance team and add value.

Reporting to the Divisional Finance Manager and working closely with an internal customer service team, you will own the AR and collections function and add value to the business by keeping debtors in control, resolving issues and keeping your internal and external customers informed.

You will also be back up for the Accounts Payable function, complete bank reconciliations, do cash flow forecasting and reporting and prepare and post month end journals.

A large part of your role will be email and phone call collections and communicating with customers and internal stakeholders. This will include chasing overdue accounts (both small and high dollar value) and updating internal stakeholders with process related queries. You will also manage debtor balances, prepare AR analysis, maintain the AR ledger and monthly aged debtors provisions and reconcile sale invoices.

Longer term the role will allow you to use your initiative around process improvements and to work on other projects within the finance team, as they arise.

Your Profile

Only apply if you have experience in collections via phone and email and enjoy this piece of an AR role. You must also be strong on bank reconciliations.

Ideally you have gained this relevant experience in a high volume AR environment, likely with a mid sized product based organisation. You must also understand accounting principles, beyond pure AR, to add value to the other functions in your accounting team.

This experience could have been gained in a pure AR / collections position or in a broader accounts role.

You will have strong Excel skills (pivot tables and vLookUps are essential), and you must be familiar with large ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle or SAP. Any experience in using AI, Dashboards or Power BI, will be highly regarded.

To be successful in this role, you will be calm and considered and relationship focused. You must be naturally inquisitive and a quick learner, and take pride in your output. Rather than just following a process, you will consider the why and adapt this to various situations.

The role is a permanent full time position paying around $80,000 - $85,000 plus super.
