About the role
As an integral member of our team, you will contribute to the design, teaching and evaluation of neonatal and midwifery units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also play a key role in strengthening clinical partnerships and research in neonatal and perinatal health, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for practice in contemporary midwifery and newborn care.
You will:
- undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students;
- develop, teach, lead and moderate units;
- undertake research activities; and
- supervise students undertaking project units and honours courses.
About you
You will bring strong neonatal and midwifery expertise and work collaboratively as part of the Institute's academic and clinical education team. You will be an innovative educator and committed scholar, with experience supporting learners and embedding neonatal knowledge across curricula. You will be a creative thinker and avid problem-solver, who possesses initiative, innovation and a can-do attitude.
To be successful, you will have:
- a current unrestricted registration as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- demonstrated clinical expertise in neonatal care (Special Care Nursery and/or NICU experience essential);
- a commitment to scholarship and a potential for academic advancement;
- enthusiasm for student-centred teaching and learning; and
- experience in academic administration.
