The Opportunity
We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Level B/C academic to contribute to our dynamic teaching and research environment. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs—including honours and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) supervision—with a strong focus on anatomy, imaging anatomy, and pathophysiology. Significant expertise in these areas is essential, and experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or simulation as applied to medical imaging will be highly regarded.
As a key member of the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (DMIRS), you will collaborate with fellow academics and researchers to strengthen the department’s clinical and applied research capacity. We welcome applicants with a background in health science (including medicine), biomedical imaging, biomedical engineering, radiation sciences, AI, or big data, who can bring fresh perspectives and drive innovative research initiatives. Your expertise will also play a vital role in shaping and assessing the curriculum, ensuring our graduates are well prepared for the evolving healthcare landscape.
Beyond teaching, this position offers a platform to lead in research and scholarship. You’ll be expected to play an active role in securing research funding, mentoring HDR students, and contributing to the broader academic and professional community. If you’re passionate about advancing the science and practice of medical imaging, and eager to influence the next generation of professionals, we encourage you to apply and join a department committed to excellence and innovation.
The Department - Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences
The Department’s staff are deeply engaged in clinical, educational, and laboratory-based research, partnering with leading institutions across Australia and internationally.
These dynamic research activities open doors for graduates and qualified medical radiation practitioners to pursue higher degrees such as a Master of Philosophy or PhD.
Committed to lifelong learning, the Department supports the professional growth of radiographers, radiation therapists, and nuclear medicine technologists through advanced practice pathways in the Master of Advanced Health Care Practice.
