As an Associate Lecturer, Optometry you will:

  • Integrate evidence-based industry, clinical and/or research practice into teaching
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of ongoing innovation in curriculum design
  • Deliver effective teaching practices that are appropriate for a given unit
  • Provide clear assessment criteria and timely and appropriate feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes
  • Undertake administrative and service duties as required for the Optometry program to run efficiently and effectively
  • Undertake the provision of clinical optometric care and provide best in class ocular health outcomes to patients in our public facing optometry practice (DCECC)

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Optometry qualification (e.g. BOptom, MOptom, OD)
  • Current registration with the Optometry Board of Australia, enabling practice of optometry in Australia
  • Experience in providing clinical or clinically relevant teaching to optometry students
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
