Josh Olsen Carpentry, a respected family-owned construction business based in Brisbane, is seeking a skilled and motivated Qualified Carpenter to join our growing team as a Leading Hand. We specialise in high-quality renovations and residential construction across Brisbane and pride ourselves on our supportive, professional environment.

About the Role

• Full-time, wages paid (rate based on experience)

• 6-month probationary period

• Immediate start available

• Work across Brisbane and surrounding suburbs

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a variety of renovation and construction projects to a high standard

• Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior team members

• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other trades as required

• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations

• Maintain a tidy and organised work site

Requirements

• Certificate III in Carpentry (or higher)

• Minimum 2–3 years post-apprenticeship experience (more highly regarded)

• Proven experience in residential renovations and construction

• White Card (Construction Induction)

• Own utility vehicle with racks or ability to transport materials

• Full set of carpentry tools and PPE

• Strong leadership skills and experience working with apprentices

• Ability to read plans, problem-solve, and communicate effectively

• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team

Desirable

• Experience as a leading hand or in a similar supervisory role

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Willingness to contribute to a positive team culture
