About the role:
This role will work closely with the Operating Theatres at GrBH and the Sterilising Department to ensure surgical reusable medical devices (RMD), instruments, trays and hollowware are moved from the Operating Theatres to the Sterilising Department and returned as quickly and efficiently as possible.
As the Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Collection and cleaning of used RMDs and instruments from the GrBH Operating Theatres in accordance with the requirements of AS 5369:2023.
Liaising with Operating Theatre staff to ensure there are sufficient instrument trays available over weekends and afterhours to meet a predicted demand.
Checking instruments to ensure that they are in working order checking all trays are complete.

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Ability to work without supervision in a self-directed manner and to follow verbal and simple written instructions.
Ability to communicate clearly and be able to advise your manager of any concerns as soon as possible
Previous experience working in a hospital environment and sterilising department or operating theatre is desirable.
