Position Description: Junior School Teacher Prep / Year 1
Commencing: As soon as possible
Hours of Duty: 8.30 – 3.00pm (Parent and team meetings will occur outside of these times)

Qualifications: Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers and First Aid and CPR Certificate

Silkwood Junior School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team of Advisors (Teachers) in our unique 2-year advisory model, with class sizes of 22 students with the additional support of a dedicated Teacher Aide.

Innovative Prep/Year 1 Teacher That Can Deliver:
Personalised Learning: Develop and implement ‘Personalised Learning Plans’ (PLP’s) tailored to each student’s unique needs and interests
Innovative Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that nourishes creativity and enhances student curiosity
Mentorship: Support students in their personal growth, helping them to explore their passions, build resilience, and develop a sense of purpose
Working in Partnership: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture where students feel valued, inspired, and connected
Alignment with Silkwood’s Aim’s and Values: A strong alignment to Silkwood’s educational aims and values is a must
To deliver this we use 'The Silkwood Way’ learning design, a unique teaching and learning framework delivered through four learning programs that give students the opportunity to learn in group, individual and personalised ways.
We are seeking applicants who can provide:

Knowledge of the Developmental phase of early years learning.
