Business Analyst

• Location: Brisbane, QLD
• Pay Rate: $78.02 per hour
• Duration: ASAP start – 27 February 2026
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week

About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business Analyst to join Fisheries Queensland’s Digital Solutions and Information team. This team leads the rollout of new systems and initiatives, including:

• Migration of key datasets to Microsoft Fabric
• Uplift of critical applications
• Enhancements to Commercial and Recreational Fishing Apps
• Support for the implementation of Independent Onboard Monitoring
• Ongoing support for cross-directorate systems, including the compliance management system and Fish Mode application

The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising data systems and supporting digital transformation across Fisheries Queensland.
Key Responsibilities

• Document business requirements specifications, facilitate design workshops, and develop test plans.
• Support and coordinate delivery of specialised technical solutions that meet organisational needs.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure requirements are aligned and fit for purpose.
• Collect and analyse “As-Is” and “To-Be” business process models.
• Organise and maintain project documentation through development, review, and approval cycles.
• Assist in stakeholder engagement, testing, and preparation of training materials.

Essential Requirements

• Strong knowledge and experience in the Information Technology industry.
• Proven experience in business analysis activities within projects or programs.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and results-driven with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Highly Desirable

• Degree in Information Technology (or related field).
• Demonstrated Business Analysis experience.
• Previous experience working with government organisations (advantageous but not mandatory).
