Your Opportunity

As the Senior Cmpliance Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, project manage, review and oversee high quality business processes and systems specific to TAFE Queensland Gold Coast for internal and external clients.

This position reports to the Director, Quality and Audit.

This is a temporayr, full-time opportunity, to 31/03/2026 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at Ashmore however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review Regional policies in consultation with stakeholders and maintain audit and compliance template documents for currency.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of contemporary operational risk management policies and practices, conduct operational risk assessments and assist in the implementation of operational risk management strategies.
  • In collaboration with the Director, Quality and Audit, utilise project management skills to drive reviews and improvements to systems and processes, and provide advice across the Region and/or the TAFE Queensland network on change management strategies.
  • Develop and lead projects and communication strategies to assist managers, process owners and other staff members to understand and apply new and existing quality standards and legislation from a practical business perspective, including the provision of reports as required regarding operating level agreements and KPI’s.
  • Provide consultancy and professional development to staff on funding agreement compliance aspects and other educational contracts as well as DESBT, TAFE and Regional policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate vocational education and training quality and registration reviews, including the supervision of other staff.
  • Represent the Region at TAFE Queensland networks and forums relating various relevant topics within the vocational education and training sector.
  • Participate in audits as required by the Director, Quality and Audit.
  • Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
  • Actively engage with industry, business and the community.
  • Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training sector, including an understanding of VET Quality Standards and legislation.
  2. Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
  3. Uses well developed interpersonal and communication skills to deliver flexible, responsive and quality client service.
  4. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to develop project plans, deliver outputs, research and develop innovative strategies that lead to the achievement of organisational goals.
  5. Maintains current knowledge of a range of industry issues and training processes relevant to the delivery of vocational and post compulsory education and training within a workplace environment.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Diploma of Quality Auditing
