About the role:

As part of the R&D team you will be working directly with the Marketing, Commercial, Procurement and Manufacturing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment based in our Yennora Head Office. The role will be spread across our MYMC and Chefgood portfolio and contribute to the continuous growth of the brand.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the development and improvement of food products, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities but not limited too:

  • Autonomously lead R&D projects from ideation to commercialisation as dictated by the function lead and R&D Manager.
  • Be a team leader within the R&D team by managing and mentoring team members
  • Effectively communicating with the SLT to manage up and provide feedback on projects and key business decisions in line with the company’s goals and strategy.
  • Lead and organise ideation to commercialisation of meals with the culinary team and other R&D team members.
  • Manage and deliver assigned projects from concept to commercialisation accurately, on time and in full and within budget. Including prototype development, factory trials, implementation, and packaging.
  • Manage all aspects of technical documentation - writing briefs for new products, ensuring compliance as per FSANZ standards, artwork management and biosecurity
  • Value engineer and reformulate existing product lines to continually improve product/service delivery quality.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food product development
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA regulations
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, across all organisational levels
  • Extensive food manufacturing experience - experience in snack products and beverages is preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
