About the role

As a Small Engine/ Handheld Mechanic at YardWorx Equipment, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of small engine equipment, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power tools. This full-time role is based in our workshop in our Gympie, Queensland store and will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers' equipment is running at peak performance.

What you'll be doing

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with small engines and related components

Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tune-ups, and filter replacements

Repair and replace faulty engine parts, including carburettors, ignition systems, and fuel systems

Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality

Maintain detailed records of all work performed

Provide excellent customer service and advise customers on proper equipment care and usage

Assist with the assembly and preparation of new equipment for sale

What we're looking for

Formal qualifications in small engine repair or mechanics, or a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role

Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills for a variety of small engine equipment

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Good customer service orientation and communication skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
