About the role
The role of the Production Horticulturalist is to oversee and execute all field operations, equipment use and staff coordination to ensure timely, high-quality implementation of horticultural and land preparation activities in line with standards for the export and domestic markets under the Redland brand.
Primary responsibilities
Ensure farm land preparations are completed as per established company procedures
Train and monitor the farm team to ensure tasks are completed to the required standards.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly programs to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure maintenance and upkeep of all machinery and equipment
Operate required machinery and equipment to complete farming tasks including tractors and irrigation systems.
Identify and report crop issues including disease and pest.
Prepare and apply appropriate chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases.
Liaise with farm management team to identify where corrective actions are required.
Create and implement plans for harvest period.
Ensure all work is compliant with Work Health & Safety policies and procedures
Complete timely orchard administration duties as required

Skills and Experience
Qualification in Agricultural Science, or similar field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of proven agricultural experience
Outstanding communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team
Present a professional image at all times
