Our client, a very large, Federal Government Organisation, responsible for foreign policy, relations & trade, are Seeking the experience of an IT Asset Manager with a strong focus on Software Asset Management to lead and manage the lifecycle, compliance, and optimisation of software assets across the organisation.

Duties of the IT Asset Manager

• Establish, implement, and maintain Software Asset Management policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with ITIL practices;
• Utilise ServiceNow or equivalent tools to maintain a centralised software asset repository and ensure accuracy of data;
• Track software entitlements, usage, installations, and compliance across multiple environments, platforms, and vendors;
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, security, and ICT operations to support the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets;
• Conduct periodic software audits and reconciliation activities to ensure proper licensing and detect over- or under-utilisation.

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in IT Asset Management in a medium to large ICT environment;
• Demonstrated knowledge of licensing models for major software vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, VMware);
• Practical experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms for software asset discovery, compliance tracking, and optimisation;
• Strong understanding of ITIL practices, particularly in Asset Management and Configuration Management.
