ICT Project Manager – Canberra Government

An ICT Project Manager and IT Project Manager is required to lead a major ICT service transition and ensure operational excellence within a respected government environment. This APS EL1-equivalent contract runs through to 30 June 2026, with potential extension, and is based onsite in Canberra.
You will guide ICT strategy, manage critical transitions, and lead an existing ICT operations team of four staff.

About the Role
As the ICT Project Manager, you will:

• Develop and implement an ICT strategy aligned with agency goals
• Oversee ICT service transition to the Department of Parliamentary Services
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders and business leaders on ICT needs
• Manage contracts, budgets, and resources to ensure value for money
• Ensure ICT security, reliability, and risk mitigation strategies are in place
• Lead and support the ICT Operations team of four staff in daily delivery

Skills and Experience Required
To succeed as an ICT Project Manager in Canberra, you will need:

• Financial management (SFIA Level 4)
• Project management (SFIA Level 5)
• Stakeholder relationship management (SFIA Level 5)

• Proven ICT project management experience at EL1 equivalent
• Strong stakeholder engagement and contract negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead ICT operations teams
• Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
• Ability to obtain and hold an NV1 security clearance
