About the Role
The City of Wanneroo is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead the daily maintenance and protection of our bushland, coastal, and wetland conservation reserves.
This is a hands on leadership position, responsible for supervising a small team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of conservation works in line with the City’s environmental objectives.

  • Plan, coordinate, and undertake daily maintenance of the City’s conservation reserves.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train team members, including onboarding of new staff
  • Safely operate and maintain a range of tools, plant, and equipment
  • Liaise professionally with colleagues, contractors, and members of the public to support positive community engagement
  • Contribute to achieving the City’s environmental and operational goals in line with organisational values and policies

About you
You are an environmentally focused professional with hands on experience in conservation, revegetation, and chemical weed control. You combine technical knowledge with practical field skills, strong teamwork, and leadership ability to deliver high quality outcomes in outdoor environments.

  • Practical experience in conservation maintenance
  • Knowledge of local plant species, weed identification, and control methods
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management or related field
  • Licences: Pesticide Skill Set, White Card, Current First Aid, C A Class driver’s licence
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with information systems and relevant technology
  • Physically fit, adaptable, and proactive with the ability to work across service units
  • Leadership qualities and a collaborative team approach
  • 4WD experience
