Assistant Manager – Busy Italian Restaurant in Rye (Evening Shifts + Leadership Role)

We’re looking for a capable, confident Assistant Manager to join the team at our busy 55-seat Italian restaurant Del Posto 2409, on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting the owner and stepping up to run and lead service shifts. You’ll be working with a great team of long-term staff in a relaxed, mature environment where professionalism and teamwork come first.

We’re a well-loved local spot that gets especially busy over summer and holiday periods — so we need someone who thrives under pressure, stays calm in the chaos, and genuinely enjoys being on the floor with customers and staff alike.

Role Details:

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday evenings from 3pm, plus Saturday day shifts from 11am

Location: Rye, Mornington Peninsula

Start: Immediate start available

Type: Full-time

What you’ll be doing:

Running and leading front-of-house service shifts

Managing bookings and overseeing smooth table flow

Handling ordering and stock control with the support of the owner

Communicating clearly with kitchen and FOH teams

Providing warm, professional service to our regulars and holiday crowds

Supporting the owner in maintaining high standards and daily operations

What we’re looking for:

A confident and experienced hospitality professional (ideally with senior FOH leadership experience)

Great communication and people skills — with both staff and customers

A calm, hands-on approach to service and problem-solving

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Someone who values a respectful, mature work culture and leads by example
