  • Uniforms & Meals Provided: We'll take care of the essentials so you can focus on what you do best
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $7,000 for eligible recruits willing to move to our regional centres (Capricornia Correctional Centre - Rockhampton, Townsville Correctional Centre - Townville, Lotus Glen Correctional Centre - Mareeba)

Please note: Custodial Correctional Officers working in correctional centres attract an aggregated shift allowance of 31.5%. Custodial Correctional Officers working within Courts Unit do not attract aggerated shift allowance as these roles are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Your Role as a Custodial Correctional Officer

Every day is different. One day, you might be overseeing prisoner rehabilitation programs, and the next, ensuring safe movement throughout the correctional centre.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting education, vocational training, and employment programs
  • Assisting with cultural engagement initiatives
  • Managing prisoner inductions and accommodation units
  • Conducting perimeter security and external escorts
  • Writing reports for case management
