About Fishcare Victoria

Fishcare Victoria is a dynamic, community-based, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fishing education and participation activities. Since 1995, we’ve worked to foster responsible fishing practices and inspire communities to care for our aquatic ecosystems.

Our programs include:
🎣 Fishing clinics for kids and families
🏫 School-based education initiatives
🌱 All Ability – Fishing is for Everyone program
🎪 Community festivals, events, and conferences

We are a volunteer-driven, charity-registered organisation and receive funds from the revenue generated by fishing license sales in Victoria to achieve our mission.

What You’ll Do

As our Geelong/Ballarat Facilitator, you’ll:

Recruit, train, and inspire volunteers through schools, angling clubs, disability providers, community groups, and more

Coordinate and deliver fishing education programs in schools, festivals, and community events

Lead and grow our All Ability – Fishing is for Everyone program, making fishing accessible to all

Raise Fishcare’s profile through social media, website content, and public appearances

Build strong networks with councils, agencies, and community partners

Support volunteers with training, governance, and grant applications

Contribute to state-wide strategy and action plans as part of the Fishcare Victoria team

Who We’re Looking For

A leader who is:

Passionate about fishing, the outdoors, and sustainability

A motivated, confident innovator who can inspire and support others

Skilled in community engagement, project management, and communication

Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds

Tech savvy — knows their way around social media and Microsoft Office

Flexible, organised, and thrives in a role where no two days are the same

(Bonus if you bring a background in natural resource management, education, fisheries management or community development.)
