About the role
We are looking for a casual experienced Registered Nurse wanting to take an active role in providing exceptional care to enable individuals with significant and complex disabilities to reach and exceed their potential within the community providing both Tracheostomy care (shifts are AM/PM.NS) and attending clinical community clients (1 to 2 hours in length each)
We provide services across an array of environments from the community to NDIS individual and shared accommodation.
You will need to be a strong team player and work well autonomously with all individuals (co-workers and participants) in a mutually respectful way while guiding a team of support workers on shift.
We focus on consistency of shifts and services in order to deliver quality person-centered care. Experience in providing direct care to persons with complex needs such as manual handling, medication administration, bowel care and wound care are essential for this role.
The role does require using your own transport, for which you are reimbursed for kilometers travelled between clients.
Confidence in caring for tracheostomy is preferable and on the job training is provided, as this role does have the potential to assist with shorter tracheotomy nurse community shifts.
Paid training and buddy shifts to commence prior to being rostered with clients.

Skills and experience
Key Responsibilities:
Work to create a pleasant home and community environment for the clients/participants
Maximise independence and confidence through enabling clients to access the community
Implement routines and structures through positive role modelling
Providing support to participants with personal care, living skills, transport, social activities, medication and other support as required
Assisting with participant complex care needs including airway management, Tracheostomy care, PEG, bowel care, behaviour and triggers, pressure area care etc.
Wound Care and Assessment
Keeping records and care plans up to date on a daily basis
Work within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with team members, team leader and management
Build effective relationships with participants, their families and informal supports
Essential Criteria:
Available to commence Training and 3x Buddy shifts ASAP
Bachelor of Nursing (Minimum)
Registered with AHPRA with no restrictions
Tracheostomy Experience or willing to complete training once employed.
Ventilation Experience or wiling to complete training once employed.
National Police Check (dated within the past year)
NDIS Orientation Worker Module
Valid Working with Vulnerable People's Check - must have NDIS activities ticked
Valid First Aid (3yrs) and CPR Certificate (yearly)
Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise and communicate with team members and families effectively
