Reporting to the Head of IR and Risk and working collaboratively with the IR & Risk team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Indie’s safety protocols and compliance systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a workplace culture at Indie Education that values safety and respect.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge and understanding of WHS principles, practices, and legislative requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the WHS space.
  • Solutions-focused with the ability to deal with issues and change in a proactive, positive, and dynamic way.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

As a WHS Administration Officer you will:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the WHS team member and Head of IR and Risk including data entry, document preparation and record keeping maintenance.
  • Maintain and update the WHS management system (Rapid Global) to ensure data accuracy and compliance (training provided).
  • Maintain WHS files to ensure they are accurate, complete and compliant.
  • Prepare WHS correspondence to employees and other ad hoc correspondence using Indie Education templates.
  • Supporting WHS projects and contributing to continuous improvements systems and strategies.
  • Assist with WHS investigations and gathering information for incident reviews.
  • Supporting the identification and implementation of hazard control measures.
  • Participating in internal WHS audits.
  • Assist with work cover related matters, Return to Work Plans, payroll summaries, file management etc.
  • Assist in the review and update of WHS policies and procedures and compliance tools.
  • Support the IR & Risk Team as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid Working with Children’s Check from relevant state authority.
  • Annual National Police Checks issued in the 3-months prior to appointment.

Remuneration:

  • Level 5 (AWCC Enterprise Agreement 2022-2025) $69,281per annum plus superannuation.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday – 8.30 AM. to 4.36 PM.
  • Annual Shutdown Period during Christmas/New Year period (Dec/Jan,10 A/L days).
