Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining safe and functional public spaces? We're looking for a Maintenance Officer to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair coordination of council buildings, playgrounds, and built structures.

Monday-Friday: 8am-4pm Pay Rate: $37.58p/h

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate customer service requests.
  
• Conduct site inspections of buildings, playgrounds, and other structures.
  
• Perform basic make-safe tasks (e.g. safety taping, removing debris).
  
• Coordinate maintenance work with contractors and internal teams.
  
• Identify and manage hazards; ensure safety signage and documentation.
  
• Maintain accurate records and use digital systems for reporting.
  
  Mandatory Requirements
  
• Experience in local government or similar environment.
  
• Level 2 Playground Inspection certification (or willingness to obtain).
  
• Valid full driver's licence.
  
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, reporting systems).
  
• Knowledge of building and public structure maintenance and safety standards.
  
• Trade or technical qualifications. (desirable)
  
• White Card (Construction Induction).
  
• Familiarity with inspection processes and risk control hierarchy. (highly desirable)
