About the role
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the Circle of Support & Accountability (COSA) and Keep in Touch (KIT) programs and their volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator is accountable and responsible for the smooth running of the COSA services, which includes coordinating and monitoring volunteer activity, facilitating the monthly ‘Housekeeping Meetings’ and providing both regular monthly reports and quarterly reports.
The Circle of Support and Accountability (CoSA) is to provide a community initiative of support which is based on the principles of Restorative Justice. The Circles are to assist and support individuals who have offended sexually and have served a prison sentence for their crimes. CoSA is designed to assist participating offenders (also known as “Core Members”) to recognise and address their behaviours, facilitating a reintegration into society and reducing potential for recidivism.
The Home Detention Support Service Program (HISSP) program provides holistic case management to individuals on home detention or other community-based orders. After individuals conclude their active case management support period within HISSP, they enter the Keep in Touch (KIT) Program. KIT Program is delivered by volunteers and provides a phone contact service across the state for previous HISSP participants.
