Red Gem Growers & Packers located in Nar Nar Goon in the outer south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne is a Quality Assured grower and packer of Potatoes and Onions for the Australian and Overseas Markets including the major supermarkets. We are currently looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our production team.

Kicking off within the production packing team, you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the packing line and then use this knowledge within the production a warehouse as a forklift operator. Your employment will be on a Casual basis Monday – Friday, between the operating hours of 6am – 2.30pm and be able to work loading trucks on a monthly rotating roster on a Saturday or Sunday for 4-6 hours dependent on production demands.

In this role your duties will include:

Packaging & labelling finished product

General cleaning and housekeeping within the production area

Assisting Machine Operator by verifying that correct packaging/crate tags/best before dates are in use.

Reporting any quality food safety risk to management

Movement of product across production areas driving the forklifts

Loading and unloading trucks as per our Quality Control procedures.

Completing daily forklift checklist

Meeting all OH&S & GMP requirements.

Ensuring forklifts daily routine checks are completed

Weighing of inwards goods and recording weights as required

You must have:

Hold a valid LF Forklift license

Must be comfortable with consistent manual handling/loading/unloading and lifting

Ideally have previous production and/or machine operating experience

Must be physically fit complete manual repetitive lifting when required

This role requires frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items weighing up to 25kg.

The position involves repetitive manual handling and standing for extended periods.

Applicants should be physically capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, trolleys, and handle heavy cartons is essential.
