About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Lawyer to assist with an exciting project as a consultant. The role is casual with options for remote work. This role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys working flexibly and has a strong interest in legal training, research, and precedent development.

The successful candidate will assist in developing training resources, drafting precedents, and providing guidance on complex family law issues. While this position is not primarily focused on direct client representation, practical experience in family law practice is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and maintain family law precedents, checklists, and templates.

Assist in designing and delivering training materials for junior lawyers, paralegals, and support staff.

Conduct legal research to support precedent and training development.

Ensure all materials are compliant with current legislation, case law, and best practices in family law.

Collaborate with the broader legal team to identify knowledge gaps and implement improvements.

Provide occasional input on complex family law matters where specialist expertise is required.

Qualifications & Skills

Admitted to practice law in Australia.

Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience in family law.

Strong drafting skills with a keen eye for detail.

Demonstrated experience in mentoring, training, or legal education preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently in a remote environment.

Up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation, court rules, and procedures.
