Our division is part of SKYE GROUP, a large retail and wholesale business thats includes international brands like Columbia Sportswear, Carter’s | OshKosh B’gosh, Sunseeker Swimwear, Poolproof, Jantzen, Azura, & Adventure Megastore and many others.

The FINZ team are looking for a talented and experienced Garment Technician & Product Developer to assist our swim & corporate division. In-depth knowledge of current apparel trends & standards, effective communication & organisational skills, experience dealing with offshore factories, high attention to detail are prerequisites in this position. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the quality and fit of our ranges are consistent, design-forward, and commercially viable.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all tech packs including pattern making, grading, detailed CADs, fabric and print information

Liaise with the manufacturing team to maintain consistency in sizing, construction, quality and workmanship

Manage and maintain up-to-date information on strike offs, lab dips and fabrics in collaboration with offshore factories

Create new season product boards

Collaborate with the team to select prints, fabrics, trims and accessories for new seasons

Be responsible for ensuring fit is consistent with our brand requirements, ensuring we attain the client brief whilst achieving quality and durability requirements

Ensure all styles are constructed using the most appropriate techniques and accessories for garment longevity and quality in production

Provide technical advice to the team to assist sales and help identify and resolve any fit issues

Managing the sampling process and adhering to the critical path

Create new season product boards

Implement strategies for continuous manufacturing process improvements

Ideally have knowledge of print development and placement artworks in print design

Requirements

3 - 5 years in a garment tech and pattern making position

Swimwear / Sportswear / Fitness / Lingerie experience is preferred but not essential.

Exposure to corporate and custom product development preferred

Experience in creating and editing tech packs, setting up quality control & garment approval process

Experience with seasonal planning calendars

Strong garment construction and technical experience including pattern making ideally with Gerber Accumark or similar

Experienced in the Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and inDesign)

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams & Outlook)

Exposure to planning and workflow tools

Tertiary education in fashion design, or equivalent

Excellent organisational and communication skills
