The role
This role supports the credit team in managing customer accounts to ensure timely collections of monies while minimizing credit risk and bad debts. You will maintain strong internal and external customer relationships by delivering accurate support promptly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for allocations, financial reconciliations, reports, and client debtor record management.
- Verifying transaction details for accuracy and addressing any irregularities.
- Generating and sending out invoices, credit adjustments, account summaries, reports, and related transaction documents.
- Delivering duplicate billing and delivery confirmations to clients as required.
- Supervising ledger reports related to supplies and additional charges.
- Monitoring accounts, pursuing overdue amounts, and authorizing order approvals within defined thresholds.
- Detecting and escalating accounts with issues or atypical activities to senior staff.
- Creating projections for cash inflows, evaluating payment gaps, and preparing cash flow summaries for specific account groups.
The candidate
The ideal candidate brings a solid background from a commercial credit setting, along with a firm grasp of credit practices and the capability to handle standard and varied tasks autonomously. You should be initiative-driven in establishing and meeting goals, skilled in interactions, and focused on delivering precise responses to client needs. Essential requirements include:
- Proven proficiency in overseeing debtor records and conducting account reconciliations.
- Skilled in evaluating credit thresholds and pursuing necessary legal measures using historical sales and reference data.
- Ability to develop connections with team members and external stakeholders.
- Able to follow company standards for quality control and occupational health and safety.
- Aptitude for proposing and applying enhancements to operations and processes.
- Currently pursuing or having completed an Advanced Credit Management Certificate or Diploma.
