Reporting into the Claims Manager, the Claims Representatives will help provide effective representation of our members in order to successfully resolve employment claims.
In this role, youâll:
- Be hands on: efficiently triage and manage employment claims, providing representation for members at the Fair Work Commission.
- Be Member focused: Act as a liaison with members when claims are received, provide support to Peninsula Mutual and apply strong advocacy and negotiation skills to resolve claims on behalf of members.
Weâre looking for someone with 3+ yrs experience in a similar role, who has:
- Industry experience: Advocacy with unions, HR Member associations or prior Inhouse roles will set you up for success. Whilst legal qualifications are certainly nice to have, theyâre not essential to excel in this role.
- Attendance at the FWC: Confidence with case preparation and representation of our members at the Fair Work Commission. You will be drafting documents and providing advocacy in unfair dismissal and general protection matters.
- A Commercial Mindset: A pragmatic approach to delivering clear, practical advice to our clients.
- Excellent communication skills â with a lot of this role being phone based, we need outstanding verbal and written communications, with high levels of empathy and emotional intelligence.
