As we enter the next phase of growth, we’re seeking a BIM & Digital Design Lead to help pioneer the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) across our design and production workflows. The role requires working within Harwyn’s in house Architecture and Design Team and integrating with the production team to ensure seamless, integration of digital models with architectural intent, detailed drawings and design excellence. Position Overview

This is a pivotal role for a technically skilled and creatively driven BIM professional who thrives at the intersection of design, digital innovation, and construction delivery. The successful candidate will lead Harwyn’s migration from CAD to a Revit-based design environment and help embed BIM efficiencies across architecture, estimating, structural engineering, light gauge steel fabrication, services coordination, and project delivery. You’ll be working closely with designers, engineers, factory teams, and external consultants to build a seamless digital workflow from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Implementation & Management

Lead the development of Revit standards, templates, families, and workflows tailored to modular construction.

Create and manage Harwyn’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for internal and consultant collaboration.

Maintain the central Revit model and ensure clean, consistent data structures and documentation.

Maintain Document Control and Model/File Management across all projects and typical drawings

Cross-Disciplinary Coordination

Collaborate with structural engineers, services consultants, external architects, and Harwyn’s Architecture and Design team to coordinate fully federated models (architecture, structure, MEP).

Run clash detection and issue resolution processes (e.g., using Navisworks or ACC).

Liaise with factory and site teams to translate digital outputs into real-world buildability and shop drawings.

Support Estimating, Procurement & Construction

Assist estimators with quantity takeoffs and material scheduling directly from BIM models.

Support the production team by developing clear, buildable model views, sections, and fabrication documentation.

Embed BIM data for specification tracking, QA, and client handover documentation (including O&M manuals).

Design & Innovation Leadership

Maintain a high standard of design expression and presentation, including 3D visualisation for client-facing deliverables.

Champion innovation and digital construction technologies within Harwyn (e.g., Enscape, Twinmotion, ACC).

Contribute to R&D efforts to streamline modular assembly, design automation, or fabrication workflows.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

•Proficiency in BIM and Revit, ideally within architecture, prefab, or construction environments.

•Strong grasp of architectural detailing, modular design, and light gauge steel coordination.

•Experience creating and managing Revit templates, families, and parametric components.

•Understanding of construction workflows including estimating, documentation, and services integration.

•Strong communication skills and ability to lead training and upskilling of team members.

Preferred:

•Exposure to fabrication workflows, modular manufacturing, or digital construction methods.

•Experience using MWF, AGACAD, or similar Revit plugins for steel framing or shop drawing generation.

•Knowledge of NCC/BCA compliance, particularly for educational and Class 9B buildings.

•Capability in visualisation tools such as Enscape, Twinmotion, or Revit Live.
