About the position
We're looking for a skilled Loader Operator to play a vital role in our Engineering Construction team. In this hands-on position, you'll be responsible for transporting essential materials to and from worksites while upholding the highest standards of safety, precision, and compliance.
What You'll Do:
Ensure timely and secure transport of materials across City worksites, following all operational guidelines and policies
Perform precision measurements and interpret single-dimensional plans to support quality control and project accuracy
Operate City vehicles, plant, and equipment with professionalism, meeting all legal and safety requirements—including proper loading procedures
Identify and locate underground services to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth project execution
Report maintenance needs for vehicles and equipment to the Supervisor of Engineering Construction, helping us maintain top-tier operational standards
What we are looking for
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
Substantial experience operating a front-end loader in a similar environment delivering quality and desirable service levels in the context of the position requirements.
Demonstrate an ability to contribute and apply analytical and problem-solving skills in matters relating to road construction.
Proven ability to prioritise and monitor personal workload with minimal supervision to achieve agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
Ability to work effectively as a team member, exercising initiative and judgement whilst working with minimal supervision.
Essential requirements
Current MR class driver’s licence
White Card
Loader Operators ticket
Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but may be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
