About the Role

We are looking for a Retail & Equipment Hire Officer to join our team at MDV Hire. This role is varied and hands-on, combining customer service, machinery preparation, stock coordination, and general site upkeep.

Day to day, you’ll:

Assist customers with hires, returns, and advice on safe machinery and tool use

Process invoices, bookings, and payments using our hire system

Clean, inspect and carry out basic servicing of machinery and equipment

Maintain stock levels, consumables, and spare parts

Keep our yard, shed, and customer areas clean, safe, and well presented

Support the team with general labour, equipment movement, and occasional vehicle piloting duties (training provided)

We want someone who is reliable, practical, and enjoys helping people. The right person will bring:

Strong customer service and communication skills

Practical knowledge of machinery and tools, with willingness to learn

Basic computer skills and the ability to pick up business systems

Initiative, autonomy, and reliability in day-to-day work

Flexibility to work regular overtime and in varying shed and outdoor conditions

A driver’s licence is required. Forklift licence, First Aid, or vehicle piloting training are an advantage, but not essential on commencement. They will be a requirement for the ongoing position.
