Karuna Hospice Services is seeking a Casual Administration Officer to provide reliable and flexible support across the organisation.

This role offers flexibility with no set hours, ideal for someone who can step in when needed and enjoys variety in their work.

About You

Previous experience in administration or office support, including reception, data entry, and record-keeping.

Friendly, professional, and patient approach to customer service (in person, phone, and email).

Confident using Microsoft Office suite and quick to learn new systems.

Flexible and reliable, with the ability to step in on short notice when support is needed.

Approachable, adaptable, and committed to living the Karuna values: humility, kindness, respect, and courage.

Current Queensland Class C Driver’s Licence and ability to complete mandatory pre-employment checks.

Desirable qualities include experience in healthcare, not-for-profit, or community services; handling confidential information; supporting WHS or compliance registers; or assisting with small projects.

What You'll Do

Be the welcoming first point of contact for Karuna visitors, callers, and email enquiries.

Deliver high-quality, flexible administrative support across multiple teams (clinical, corporate, community, board, and leadership).

Maintain smooth front-of-house operations, including reception, mail, meeting rooms, catering, and technology set-up.

Provide backfill for other administrative roles as required.

Support data entry, reporting, and accurate record-keeping.

Assist with small projects (e.g., registers, asset management systems, WHS documentation).

Liaise with external IT providers to escalate and resolve issues.

Contribute to safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Important to Know

This is a casual role with no guaranteed or regular hours. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, and comfortable working at short notice when support is needed across the organisation.
