About the role

This is a full-time position located in Riverstone, NSW, with J & E Asphalt & Civil Pty Ltd, a leading asphalt laying company. As a Junior WHSEQ (Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our civil construction projects.

What you'll be doing

Assisting in the development, implementation and upkeep of WHSEQ policies, procedures, and systems

Conducting site inspections and audits to identify and address potential health, safety, and environmental risks

Providing WHSEQ training and support to our teams

Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions

Maintaining accurate WHSEQ records and reporting on performance metrics

Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure WHSEQ compliance

What we're looking for

Minimum Cert 3 tertiary qualification in a WHSEQ

0-2 years of experience in a WHSEQ or construction safety role

Strong understanding of work health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and quality management systems

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

Proactive self starter with problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail

Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite, WHSEQ software and data management tools
