About the Role
Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA) is seeking an Administration Officer to join our Finding North team. Finding North delivers a range of online initiatives designed to promote and support mental health and wellbeing, including:
Finding North – A Mental health and wellbeing information website
Finding North Network - Online Lived Experience Network
Rights and Self-Advocacy Training Program
Lived Experience Speaker’s Program
Webinar Series
Annual Perspectives E-Symposium
This role is key to the smooth operation of administrative functions, supporting Finding North projects and other MIFA activities. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, assisting with reporting, events, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage general administrative tasks including data entry, digital filing, document management, and maintaining databases and records.
Assist with project reporting and financial administration.
Provide meeting support and handle incoming/outgoing correspondence.
Assist with enrolments and registrations for training programs and online events.
Contribute to social media, marketing, and communications activities.
Support the team to ensure smooth and effective remote operations.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in an administrative role, ideally within the community services sector.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Canva, Google Analytics, and other online tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
Ability to maintain a safe and effective home working environment.
Passion for supporting community-based initiatives and valuing lived experience.
Highly Regarded
Certificate III or IV in Business Administration (or related field).
Experience in financial administration tasks.
Experience in WordPress.
Experience in Data Exchange.
Knowledge of the mental health and/or disability sector, including lived experience principles and frameworks.
Prior experience in mental health advocacy or peer-led environments.
Experience in multimedia content creation.
Understanding of supporting people with mental health challenges.
