Title: Fire Services & Maintenance Estimator

About the Role
Hix Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Services & Maintenance Estimator to join our team. In this full-time position, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of fire protection projects and service contracts across the Greater Sydney Area. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and ensuring our clients receive solutions that are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.

What You’ll Be Doing

Prepare detailed estimates, quotations, and proposals for fire services projects and maintenance contracts.

Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to ensure accurate pricing.

Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.

Assist in tender preparation and submission within required timeframes.

Identify potential risks, variations, and opportunities within project scopes.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations relating to fire protection services.

Work closely with the projects and service delivery teams to ensure smooth handover from estimating to operations.

Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies in estimating processes and workflows.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in fire services estimating (maintenance and/or projects) or related trade background.

Strong understanding of fire systems (wet and dry), detection, suppression, and compliance requirements.

Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and technical specifications.

Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Proficient in MS Office and estimating software.

A self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team.
