About the Role
As HSEQ Coordinator, you'll partner closely with operational leaders across the Northern Gold Coast site and the broader business to identify, assess, and manage critical risk. This role isn't about ticking boxes. It's about actively shaping a culture of care, integrity and curiosity where safety is everyone's responsibility.
This is a highly visible, on-site role that will see you support frontline managers and operations to lead improvement initiatives, and embed practical, best-practice solutions. With plenty of autonomy, you'll take ownership of incident investigations, drive improvements across the site's risk register, and help deliver strategic safety programs that make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and influence safety-first behaviours across all operational teams
- Manage the site risk register and critical risk controls, identifying and closing any gaps
- Support WHS audits, ISO compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct and lead Incident investigations and follow through corrective actions
- Oversee Chain of Responsibility requirements, championing mitigation strategies
- Partner with management on safe systems of work, risk assessments, and site safety documentation
- Coordinate safety-related training and upskilling programs
- Support injury management and workers compensation processes as needed
- Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting, in line with legislation and company standards
What You'll Bring
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety - essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience in HSEQ or compliance roles
- Strong WHS experience within construction, environmental services, waste, transport or industrial sectors
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a consultative and approachable, transparent style
- A flexible, proactive mindset and the confidence to lead from the front and make this role your own
- Strong attention to critical risk, with a natural curiosity and drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to influence and build relationships across a diverse workforce, team player
- Sound working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems and audits
- Commitment to a culture of safety, care and positive team culture
Nice to Have
- Courses in Chemical/Dangerous Goods or Workers Compensation Management
- Senior First Aid Certificate and Investigations training
- Auditing Certification in ISO standards (IMS)
- Member or eligible for membership Australian Institute of Health and Safety
