Workfast is looking for Trade Assistants & Riggers with Confined Space Rescue tickets to join a shutdown project with a major mining company in Newcastle, NSW.

This role is short-term shutdown work with day and night shifts available. The dates are between 28th August & 3rd September 2025.

Physically fit – able to perform labour-intensive shutdown work

Mechanical Trade Assistant experience

Confined Space Rescue ticket

Rigging ticket (Rigger roles)

Ability to work in a shutdown environment

Ability to pass site medicals / inductions if required

Own transport to Newcastle, NSW

Availability for immediate shutdown work

What you will be doing

Labour-intensive shutdown duties in a heavy industrial environment

Assisting trades and riggers on shutdown works

Performing confined space and rescue standby duties (for TA roles)

Rigging duties as directed by supervisors (for Rigger roles)

Following all site safety requirements and procedures

Working as part of a team to deliver a safe and successful shutdown
