• Monday to Thursday - 7am - 3.30pm
• Fridays - 7am - 1:30pm
• Prestons location
• 4 month project however for the right person this may be extended

TLH Recruitment is proudly representing a Remediation Specialist in the Rail Industry , based in Prestons. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Trade Assistant to join their team! This opportunity is initially for a 4 month project however for the right person may be ongoing.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Mechanical Fitters to overhaul, test, and maintain - brake systems, door systems ,dampers and suspension used in rail applications
• Assist Fitters to perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
• Assist Fitters to conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
• Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
• Operate hand and power tools as needed
• No heavy lifting required would use pullies and over head cranes
• Training provided

Requirements:

• Experience as a Trade Assistant with solid experience with Mechanical or Electrical trades
• Rail experience preferred
• Welding ticket would be beneficial (MIG/TIG welding)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
• Experience with assisting Fitters overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
• Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
• High attention to detail and safety awareness
• Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
• Reliable and able to commit for length of project
