About The Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Tradesperson with expertise in electric motor rewind. You will be responsible for rewinding AC and DC traction motors, as well as various types of formed coil motors, alternators, and generators. Your knowledge and experience in electric motor rewinding will be crucial in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of these electrical systems.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Perform electric motor rewind tasks on AC and DC traction motors, formed coil motors, alternators, and generators.

Disassemble motors and generators, carefully documenting and labelling components for rewinding.

Inspect and assess the condition of windings, insulation, and other motor components.

Remove and replace damaged or worn-out windings, ensuring proper alignment and connection.

Rewind motors using appropriate techniques and materials, adhering to industry standards and specifications.

Test and verify the integrity and functionality of rewound motors and generators.

Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement improvements to motor rewinding processes.

Maintain accurate records of rewinding activities, including documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to electric motor rewinding.

Skills and experience:

Trade Certificate - Electrical Licence.

Proven experience as an Electrical Tradesperson, specializing in electric motor rewind.

Strong knowledge of AC and DC traction motors, formed coil motors, alternators, and generators.

Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems.

Familiarity with electric motor rewinding tools, equipment, and techniques.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Flexibility to work in various shifts and overtime as needed.
