About this opportunity:

The Diesel Fitter position is responsible for maintaining the Council's plant and equipment fleet to a high standard, offering expert mechanical services to both internal and external clients. Key responsibilities include providing efficient mechanical services for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of the fleet, ensuring all required documentation is completed, offering trade guidance and assistance as part of a team, and fulfilling other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the position.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Trade Certificate as a Mechanical tradesperson or Diesel Fitter i.e Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting) or similar qualifications
• Current QLD 'C' Class Drivers licence
• General Construction Safety 'White' card
• Mechanical experience must include diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, automotive air-conditioning and auto electrical in relation to heavy machinery.
• QLD 'HR' Class driver's licence and Forklift ticket will be desirable

"Council is committed to the safety of its employees and requires an immunisation program for identified roles. The successful applicant will be required to attend a post-employment immunisation assessment, by a health practitioner nominated and paid for by the Council."
