CORPORATE FINANCE OFFICER
About the opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Finance Officer to join our Corporate & Community team. Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate financial planning, reporting, and compliance across Council operations.
You will contribute to the development and review of the Long-Term Financial Plan, annual budgets, and financial reports, while supporting internal controls, audits, and business improvement initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about public sector excellence.
This is a full-time position classified at Level 5 of the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and associated Enterprise Agreement with an immediate start desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review Council’s Long Term Financial Plan, budgets, and financial reports.
Monitor internal financial controls and support audit processes.
Assist with grant acquittals, cost analysis, and financial modelling.
Collaborate on business improvement projects and data-driven decision-making.
Support the Finance team and provide excellent customer service.
Uphold Council’s values and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace.
About you
To be considered for this position, you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, or Commerce (or working towards).
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial compliance.
Proficiency in financial systems, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
A current Class C Driver’s Licence.
