Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Buyer with deep knowledge of the beauty industry and fluency in Korean. Based out of our Sydney office, this role will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing a diverse portfolio of K-beauty products. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, market insights and vendor relationship management with a particular focus on K-beauty trends and supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and introduce new and trending beauty products from Korea.

Build and manage strong supplier relationships, driving joint business plans across NPD, marketing, promotions, and events.

Forecast sales, margins, profits, and shipping, collaborating with planning on replenishment and orders.

Negotiate annual contracts on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve commercial targets.

Oversee product lifecycle management, including planograms, range reviews, and assortment optimisation.

Analyse sales data and market trends to refine buying and product strategies.

Partner with Marketing and Retail teams to deliver impactful launches and promotions

Negotiate and manage VMD funding with brands, ensuring flawless in-store execution.

Attend trade shows, supplier meetings, and industry events (including in Korea) to stay ahead of trends.

Mentor and support Assistant Buyers, ensuring accurate data, timely NPD files, and on-time product launches.

The ideal candidates will have:

Fluent in Korean and English (written and spoken) – essential for direct communication with Korean suppliers.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

3+ years’ experience in buying or merchandising, ideally within beauty or cosmetics

Strong knowledge of K-Beauty trends, products, and consumer preferences.

Skilled negotiator with excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and buying/planning systems (e.g. SAP/Oracle).

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple priorities.

Willing to travel for supplier visits and industry events, including trips to Korea.
