At AHB, you're joining Ballina’s most iconic pub—part modern‑Australian powerhouse, part bold‑Mexican Cantina - with cold beers, live weekend music, and pub classics served with coastal flair.

We’re open 7 days a week, with the kitchen currently open Tuesday–Saturday for lunch (12 pm–2:30 pm) and dinner (5 pm–8:30 pm), plus Sunday lunch 12 pm–4 pm

Expect evening and weekend shifts—the best times to bring our kitchen to life.

You’ll report to our Sous and Head Chef and step into a team that celebrates good food, really good times, and next‑level service in one legendary venue.

What You’ll Be Doing

Cook up a storm—tacos, schnitzels, steaks, burgers, and rotating weekly specials from our bustling Cantina and pub menu

Follow recipes with attention to detail to deliver consistency and quality.

Keep inventory in check, reduce waste, and keep the kitchen humming.

Stick to food‑safety rules like they were your grandma’s recipes.

Lift your team up—communicate clearly, pitch in, and make every service memorable.

We’d Love You To Have

Kitchen experience in a pub, bar, restaurant, or similar—especially if you're into vibrant, high‑volume service.

A love for good food and a knack for doing it well, fast.

A sharp eye for food safety and hygiene.

The ability to thrive when things get busy—and still keep smiling.

Great communication skills and the right attitude to be a team player.

Qualifications?

Not essential—but if you're a qualified chef coming looking for a great place to shine, you’re very welcome.
