The Fire Station Hotel is a family friendly pub located in Wallsend, a suburb of Newcastle located 11 kilometers from the CBD and approximately 150 kilometers north of Sydney.

We are looking to employ a qualified chef to join our team on a full-time basis. Candidates ideally should have Cert III or Cert IV (preferred) Diploma in commercial cookery and at least 2 years’ experience post qualification as a chef in commercial kitchens.

Cooking responsibilities include:

Cooking al la carte meals

Managing a team of staff in the kitchen

Ensuring that standards are maintained

Ensuring that many meals are cooked to standard within a time frame

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Non-cooking responsibilities include:

Rostering

Menu costing

Training staff

Menu creation

Food prep

Stock control

Purchasing and supplier liaison

Maintaining food safety standards
