About the role
Pro ME Career Services, an impact-driven allied health and career services team, is recruiting an experienced Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant to join us. As a contractor, you will work exclusively with clients in the Life Insurance sector, delivering specialised vocational rehabilitation services that truly make a difference.
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, you will support individuals with disabilities or health conditions within the Life Insurance sector to secure and sustain meaningful employment through voluntary, client-led services. This contractor position is open to qualified consultants based in VIC, NSW, WA or QLD.
What you'll be doing
Services include, but are not limited to: vocational counselling, job placement assistance, work trials, upskilling and retraining programs, job-seeking skills development, work readiness programs, and proactive job search strategies. We also offer specialised single-service assessments, including vocational assessments and labour market analysis.
Conducting vocational assessments to evaluate clients' functional capacities, skills, and barriers to employment
Developing individualised rehabilitation plans and implementing interventions to support clients' vocational goals
Identifying retraining and wellness opportunities tailored to client needs
Providing vocational counselling and case management support when applicable
Liaising with employers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate job placements and workplace accommodations
Offering ongoing support and monitoring to promote successful job retention
Maintaining accurate client records and preparing detailed progress reports
Collaborating with the wider rehabilitation team to deliver holistic, client-centred services, both remotely and face-to-face
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or a related allied health discipline (required)
Current registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body (e.g., ASORC, AASW) is required
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant or similar role (required)
Life Insurance experience/knowledge (preferrable)
Demonstrated understanding of the vocational rehabilitation process and best practices in supporting clients with diverse needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, employers, and other stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and time management abilities
Empathetic, client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based services
Current ABN (or willing to obtain)
Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance ($20M minimum)
Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
Eligible to work in Australia with unrestricted working rights
Proficiency with vocational rehabilitation case management systems (Case Manager Chameleon)
