Allambee is a leading provider of specialist therapeutic services for people impacted by sexual violence and/or domestic and family violence with over 30 years’ experience supporting individuals, children, young people, and families of the Peel region. Alongside our therapeutic programs, Allambee’s Women’s Health Service provides responsive gendered health services, combined with preventive interventions and health promotion activities to support improved long-term health outcomes for women.

About the Role:

Allambee is recruiting for an Intake & Assessment Clinician to provide specialist triage assessment, case management, advocacy and crisis and brief/short-term interventions for clients referred into Allambee's therapeutic services. The Intake & Assessment Clinician provides case management support and direct-client support to clients waiting for services and clients engaged in Allambee’s group-based programs. You will be part of an enthusiastic, dynamic, and supportive team that is committed making a real difference to the lives of individuals, children, young people, and families impacted by interpersonal violence.

The role is part time (3 days).

Key Responsibilities:

Comprehensive triage screening of new referrals including: risk assessment and safety planning; eligibility for Allambee services; assessment of severity and complexity of needs; priority and/or waitlist status; and other support needs

Support the management of referrals via consultation/liaison with referring parties and an integrated/collaborative approach to care and case management

Support the waitlist for Allambee services to ensure clients receive timely access to services and are appropriately supported while waiting for services

Assist clients to access support from other health and community services as appropriate

Provision of crisis and brief/short-term interventions for clients requiring immediate support.

Support the delivery and development of groups and workshops for clients, professionals, and other as needed.

Interagency consultation and collaborative case management

Active engagement in reflective practice, clinical supervision and professional development.

About You:

Allambee is looking for a passionate, motivated individual who has experience in Intake, Assessment, Triaging or similar roles in the trauma/family domestic and sexual violence field, or who is looking to make a move into this specialised area.

Part-time (3 days). Hours are 8:30am-4:30pm. Days are negotiable but must include a Friday. The position is office-based (no remote/work from home).

Successful candidates will bring the following:

A Bachelor or Masters level qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling or another related discipline with knowledge and experience relevant to the role and eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association.

Strong skills in completing individual and family assessments, particularly in relation to risk/safety, trauma and mental health.

Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of trauma informed care and practice, including the confidence to provide specialist knowledge and secondary consultation, and to communicate, liaise and negotiate within a team and with other relevant professionals.

An understanding of family and domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse and the impacts of trauma consistent with best practice theoretical frameworks

12 months or more experience in in providing counselling interventions to children, adolescents and/or adults.

Understanding and appreciation of issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from CALD backgrounds

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, organisation skills and ability to maintain accurate and confidential client records, record statistical data information and prepare professional reports.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.

Demonstrated commitment to professional conduct, individual and peer supervision, debriefing and self-care practices.

The successful candidate must have current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check (or equivalent), and a current WA Driver’s Licence (or equivalent).
