About the role

In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the nightly operations and management of our pub, with a supportive team and a roster that predominantly runs from Saturday to Wednesday, from 4pm to close. You will be outgoing and approachable, good with small talk, and firm but fair in dealing with intox.

What you'll be doing

Leading from the front, with hands-on bartending. We are about to open a new wine and cocktail bar in the venue, and this will be your weekend baby.

Overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations, including customer service, staff management and cash handling.

Running our promotions and supporting other staff to do the same

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction

Providing effective leadership and motivation to other staff

Assisting the General Manager with ad-hoc projects and duties as required

What we're looking for

RSA and RCG

Solid knowledge of wine and cocktails

Significant experience in a similar Manager role

Working knowledge of gaming machines and TAB

An outgoing personality with a flair for hosting

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Decent computer literacy

Southend is a family run business in South Maroubra that comprises a lively Irish bar, a bottleshop, motel, TAB and gaming. And now our brand new East Wing wine and cocktail bar. You will be reporting to Chri our Licensee and Gina our General Manager.
