As our long-term bookkeeper transitions into retirement, we’re looking for an experienced professional to step into a pivotal role supporting our team and business operations.

The Role
This hands-on position covers the full spectrum of bookkeeping alongside basic HR implementation. You’ll be working closely with our business owner, supported during the transition period by our current bookkeeper, and will play an important role in maintaining the smooth financial and operational running of the marina.

Key Responsibilities

Manage fortnightly payroll, superannuation, STP2, onboarding, and employment contracts.

Prepare and lodge IAS; assist in BAS preparation for external accountants.

Oversee accounts payable/receivable and complete daily reconciliations (Xero, Chandlery Sales & Booking systems).

Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.

Basic HR policy implementation.

Maintain accurate financial records in Xero and provide reporting/analysis as required.

Liaise with external accountants.

Provide financial administration support to the business owner.

What You’ll Bring

Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Office.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounts, or finance.

Sound understanding of accounting principles and Australian payroll/ATO compliance.

Familiarity with awards, superannuation, and reporting deadlines.

High attention to detail with a strong focus on reconciliations and balance sheet accuracy.
