We are looking for a part-time Cook/Chef to join us at our 20-bed residential rehabilitation centre in Caboolture where we provide residential rehabilitation services in a safe and supportive environment.
This is a max term contract commencing ASAP to 31st December 2025. Working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday’s we offer some flexibility around start and finish times, but you will need to be available to create meal plans, cook lunches, prepare the evening meals and manage our commercial kitchen.
With a background in hospitality or experience working within a large kitchen, you will be an open and engaging person with a commitment to creating and cooking nutritious and balanced meals.
You will also offer the following skills to support your experience:
- Understanding of food purchasing and stock control – you’ll be managing a food budget
- Experience in menu planning and delivery
- Solid knowledge of nutrition; able to work within dietary requirements
- High hygiene standards with significant knowledge of food safety and handling
- A caring, compassionate, and respectful attitude – including working within professional boundaries
- Good emotional regulation skills, with an understanding of de-escalation practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people
- Understanding for the need to maintain confidentiality of clients – both at work and after hours
- Supervisory skills – you’ll be mentoring and supporting clients to develop skills in the kitchen
- Qualifications as a Chef or similar would be beneficial - current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate required.
You will need to have a current, valid Australian Drivers Licence, current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, First Aid Certificate and a National Police Check.
